Wesbild Awards 10 New Wesbild LIFT Scholarships

Wesbild would like to congratulate the 64 CABE Graduates who crossed the stage at the Massey Theatre last night at their convocation ceremony. We were proud to award the Wesbild LIFT scholarship to ten grads, as well recognize students who received a Wesbild LIFT scholarship in December and renew an alumni scholarship.

Congratulations to the following recipients:

  • Aaron Chouinard  $2900 for Carpentry Foundation at BCIT
  • Adam Michalik  $1400 for Bachelor of Arts at Douglas College
  • Aliya Gordon  $2100 for Child & Youth Worker at Douglas College
  • Faith Adams  $4250 for Interim Aboriginal University Prep Program at SFU
  • Jeremy Rodney $1400 for Computer Science at Douglas College
  • Kevin Herrera  $2800 for Automotive Technician at BCIT
  • Riawna King  $1400 for Bachelor of Arts at Douglas College
  • Sophie Nygaard  $5200 for Culinary Arts at Vancouver Community College
  • Trenton Wicklund-Shemluk  $1000 for Level 2 Metal Fabrication at BCIT
  • Tyler Hutchinson  $1,000 for Trades Discovery at BCIT

As well as Emily Linton, who had her scholarship renewed ($2800 for Business Administration at BCIT).

The Wesbild LIFT Scholarship has committed significant funds to support CABE graduates get post secondary training and education. The scholarship is open to current CABE graduates. Grads from up to 18 months ago can also apply, along with graduates from other schools in School District 43 but who have spent 75% or more of their time at CABE.


Wesbild Opens Burke Mountain Pioneer Park

Wesbild is excited to announce that Burke Mountain Pioneer Park is now officially open! This park was built through a partnership between Wesbild and the City of Coquitlam.

The newest park in the neighbourhood, Burke Mountain Pioneer Park features an art play climbing element, grass sports field, full-sized sport court, table games, a community garden and open lawn area for picnics and relaxing. The Park also features over 25 shade trees that will grow with the park, and connections to the existing trail system across Burke Mountain.

Burke Mountain Pioneer Park was developed on the property originally owned by the Hoigaard family, and was commonly referred to as “Burke Mountain Ranch”.

Burke Mountain Pioneer Park is located at 1428 Collins Road, Coquitlam.
