As announced by Music Business Worldwide, Reservoir was named Publisher of the Year at the media outlet’s annual A&R Awards ceremony. This marks Reservoir’s second win in this category, and third consecutive nomination, as the company was also awarded the title in 2017. Reservoir UK Head of Creative Charlie Pinder, alongside President and COO Rell Lafargue, accepted the award on the company’s behalf, thanking the rest of the UK Creative team including Managing Director Annette Barrett, A&R Manager Benjamin Akpojaro, and Creative and Administrative Manager Chloe Pullinger, plus Reservoir’s Creative teams in Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York, and Reservoir songwriter Jamie Hartman, also one of the night’s nominees.
Now in its fourth year, The A&R Awards, presented by Music Business Worldwide in association with Abbey Road Studios, celebrates UK achievements in the field of A&R. Jamie Hartman also earned a nomination for Songwriter of the Year, an award that recognizes the very best in behind-the-scenes UK musical creatives, voted on by a worldwide panel of expert and experienced A&R figures. Among Hartman’s many accomplishments this year are co-writing and/or producing hits including “Giant” performed by Calvin Harris and Rag’N’Bone Man, Lewis Capaldi’s “Hold Me While You Wait” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong,” off the breakthrough artist’s record-breaking #1 debut album Divinely Inspired To A Hellish Extent, Backstreet Boys’ Grammy-nominated and BMI Award-winning hit “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” and Louis Tomlinson’s comeback single “Kill My Mind,” plus additional collaborations with Jamie Cullum, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Guy Sebastian, Christian Paul, and more. Furthermore, “Giant” earned a nomination for the inaugural Song of the Year category at the awards ceremony.
This Publisher of the Year win caps off an exciting week for Reservoir, who just on Thursday earned a Top 10 U.S. Market Share for Hot 100 Songs according to Billboard’s Publishers Quarterly report. Coming in at #5 with 3.96% of the total market share, this notably marks the company’s eighth appearance since Q2 of 2017 and its highest rankings to date. Additionally, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita,” co-written by Reservoir’s Ali Tamposi, was named the #3 Hot 100 Song, while Post Malone’s “Goodbyes” featuring and co-written by Young Thug came in at #8.
